HBO: “The Nevers”
Freelance Copywriter
In celebration of their new genre-bending series The Nevers, HBO teamed with RQ Agency, Hendrick’s Gin and yours truly to create a wildly inventive at-home experience for superfans and influencers.
HBO and RQ wanted copy written from the perspective of “The Nevers” main characters.
Written entirely in two Victorian characters’ voices — quirky inventress Penance Adair’s and her no-bullshit partner-in-justice Amalia True’s — we created an immersive compendium puzzle experience that generated excitement for the show’s debut.

The Compendium
I wrote copy for all the compendium’s interactive clues (including a poem with Easter eggs for yet-to-be-aired episodes) and for Penance’s 30-page inventor’s notebook, which consisted of zany invention blueprints, era-friendly gin cocktails and other scribblings that alluded to the show.
The compendium was hand-delivered to macroinfluencers in the scifi, fantasy, cosplay and feminism realms.
We even got a little press.
The Notebook
No, not the sad movie. Penance Adair’s exquisitely steampunk inventor’s notebook. I developed invention names, directions, cocktail blurbs, newspaper clippings and other pieces of content that fit in the show’s world so accurately the producers said “no changes.”
No, really.
